Highlights from our past World Flamenco Day events

Atlantic Flamenco has been presenting our World Flamenco Day events since 2019, in partnership with Halifax Central Library.  Due to the pandemic, we had to sit in hiatus for a couple of years, but were very happy to bring these events back in 2021.  They have since continued every November to celebrate World Flamenco Day.

Our past events have included informational workshops and presentations on the history and development of flamenco, from its humble roots to a prestigious world art form.  We’ve put on showcases of local flamenco talent, both professional and emerging artists. Plus regular performances from the students at Flamenco and Ballet School Maria Osende in Halifax. We also encourage audience participation with short sessions to learn basic dance steps and flamenco rhythms.
