Support Flamenco Education in Atlantic Canada
Overview – Donation Campaign
Atlantic Flamenco is bringing together two closely connected initiatives under one nonprofit structure: the integration of the Osende Dance Arts Flamenco Program (formerly Flamenco School Maria Osende) into Atlantic Flamenco’s charitable framework. This transition ensures the long-term sustainability, accessibility, and growth of flamenco education in Atlantic Canada.
Context & Background
- 2005 — The flamenco dance school is founded by Maria Osende. It remains the only dedicated flamenco dance school in Atlantic Canada.
- 2007 — Atlantic Flamenco is established to produce the Atlantic Flamenco Festival.
- 2010 – 2025 — Atlantic Flamenco expands its mission via performances, the Guitarra Flamenca Mentorship, and the Seville’s April Fair in Halifax.
- 2026 — Integration Year. Atlantic Flamenco incorporates the school under its umbrella to ensure a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable future.
Why Integration Matters
Integrating the school into Atlantic Flamenco allows us to:
- Preserve and strengthen Atlantic Canada’s only flamenco education program.
- Increase accessibility and reduce financial and structural barriers.
- Support students, artists, and educators within a charitable framework.
- Strengthen organizational and administrative capacity.
Campaign Goal: $6,000 by July 1, 2026
