Seville’s Spring Fair in Halifax
Celebrate Spring, Spanish Style
Welcome to Atlantic Flamenco’s annual celebration of light, colour, and joy—Seville’s Spring Fair in Halifax. Inspired by Seville’s iconic April Fair, this vibrant cultural festival brings the energy of flamenco, Spanish music, and dance to Nova Scotia’s shores. Since its launch in 2023, the Fair has grown into a beloved spring tradition, offering unforgettable performances, interactive workshops, and family-friendly events.
About the Fair
Seville’s Spring Fair is a multi-day cultural festival that celebrates the spirit of Spain through flamenco dance, music, art, and community. Each year, we invite audiences of all ages to immerse themselves in the rhythms and stories that connect Nova Scotia to Andalusia.
Whether you’re clapping along to a flamenco jam session, dressing up for a Spanish-inspired evening, or watching world-class performers light up the stage, there’s something for everyone.
Highlights from Past Editions
2023: The Launch
Partnering with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, our inaugural event featured guest artists Rossane Dion and Jose Vega. The evening introduced Halifax to the passion and storytelling of flamenco, setting the tone for future celebrations.
2024: A Weekend to Remember
In collaboration with the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, we hosted a full day of free family activities, including:
- Open Stage performances
- Kids’ dance workshops
- Adult Dance-Along sessions
- Flamenco jam with musicians and dancers
The museum’s waterfront backdrop and sunny weather made it a perfect setting. Our “Night in Seville” performances sold out both nights, featuring guest artists Aurélie Brunelle, Fernando Gallego, Sandra Matos, and Dominique Soulard.
2025: Between Shores – Tales Woven Through Flamenco
This year’s theme explores the cultural connections between Spain and Nova Scotia. Audiences will experience a world-premiere flamenco performance, interactive workshops, and a community fair—all designed to celebrate shared stories through movement and music.
